Indian Wedding at Galveston Island (TX)
As told by The Ramseys Photography: Ryan and Jessica are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They first met in the fall of 2011 at Texas A&M University. When they first met at Schuhmacher Hall, Jessica thought Ryan was super weird. They became close friends almost immediately, so Jessica was also probably a little weird in her own right. Between late night studying and dinners at Sbisa to playing in the rain on campus and cheering on the fightin’ Texas Aggie football team, Ryan and Jessica realized there was something special between them and eventually started dating. yan has loved Jessica for a long time and waited patiently for her to finish nursing school before they got married.
The ceremony took place at First Baptist Church in Galveston, the church that Jessica attended and grew up in. Some of Jessica’s extended family flew all the way in from India to watch them tie the knot. Her pastor, who had seen her grow in her faith over the years, gave the sermon and blessed their marriage.
Jessica’s bridesmaids and Ryan’s family as well wanted to celebrate Jessica’s Indian heritage. Ryan wore a traditional kurta, and the bridesmaids and Ryan’s mom wore colorful lehengas. Usha, Jessica’s mom, traveled back to India before the wedding to have the gowns custom made especially for them. Although red is the traditional color for brides, it was important to the Jessica that they wore white as a Christian symbol.
After the ceremony and family portraits, we headed to the San Luis Hotel on the Seawall. This was hands down the most fun we have ever had photographing a reception! It was a non-stop party from the minute the DJ turned on the dance music to the last song of the night. Not a single person was in their seat. Everyone was on the dance floor dancing the night away for hours! (Shameless plug here for a phenomenal DJ who kept the party going all night long) We will always remember how Usha let loose and never stopped dancing. She was pulling family up on the stage for little dance sequences. She was truly celebrating this day with all her heart.
We are so excited for this next chapter in their life. Being married is wonderful! Congratulations, Ryan & Jessica!
