Enchanted Woods Styled Shoot (Woodbridge, VA)
Enchanted Woods Styled Shoot – Summary
A team of talented vendors joined together to bring this enchanting love story to life in the at the Harbour View, a premier event venue nestled beside the charming Occoquan River in Woodbridge, VA. Our goal was to bring in beautiful colors & romance to a rustic and natural love story. This bright and elegant combination was created using plum, sage, arbor bronze, mauve, and nude colors to interlace this unique inspirational event.
I am Keshia Pride & I own Pride in Planning, LLC in Northern Virginia. Creating & designing elements that are eloquent & eye catching is one of my favorite parts of being an event planner. For this styled shoot I was inspired by my love for the rustic and natural look of the airy outdoors. With the help of Matthew “Dag” D’Agostino as our photographer, we captured the perfect Enchanted Woods wedding scene.
Enclosed on three sides and open on the fourth side to the gorgeous river views, the indoor-outdoor space of the Veranda at Harbour View is perfect for wedding ceremonies of up to 240 guests. Draped in billowing white fabrics for any special day, the Veranda is a vision of whimsy and romance.
Our table & chiffon chairs were provided by the venue. We felt this area brought the most to our layout with a truly enchanting ambience that was open to the elements. The elegant place setting featured the luxurious dark heartwood of acacia wood RoRo round wood serving plate chargers, plum Pioneer Woman Adeline Embossed 12-ounce footed glass goblets, and unique arbor bronze twig-shaped flatware from Pier1 to convey our affinity for the outdoors. Atop of the wood chargers were white luna china bowls accompanied with eggplant twill napkins supplied by the premier rental source DC Rental in Arlington, Virginia. Our lotus napkin fold was distinctly placed between the chargers and bowls.
Inspired to create an aisle scene, the team and I decided we would need a groom so not to leave our beautiful bride lonely at the altar. It was Linda’s suggestion to invite her real-life husband to model alongside of her –what better than a real couple as my main models. Linda & Kevin Wright have been hopelessly in love & got married in September of 2014.
Since Linda & Kevin are already happily married, they made for the perfect couple! The wedding aisle was handmade on site by Shirley Goodwin with JR Flowers. Shirley designed an amazing floral centerpiece filled with tulips, four different types of roses, purple frittilaria, burgundy scabiosa, burgundy ranunculus, white lisianthus, lavender stock, and greenery which was perfectly adorned with the natural and rustic theme.
Our gorgeous wedding gown was a Sophia Tolli Bridal Collection design style Y11959A found at the House of JonLei Atelier owned by GiGi T. Williams. The House of JonLei Atelier is located at the National Harbor in Maryland.
The enchanting twig seating chart created a woodsy entrance but it was the calligraphy by Cygnus Studio on each vellum sheet dropping from the twigs and on the wood slice base that gave the magical impression. Our carved tree inspired two tier cake designed by Wholly Sweets bake shop in Woodbridge, Virginia was beautifully crafted & the perfect addition to our shoot. The dessert table was elegantly designed by Rainatu R. Conteh, Founder of Rai’s Design Event Planning. The twig-handled cake cutting set was perfectly placed on the engraved wood slab with calligraphy from Cygnus Studio.
Our groom wore a Shale Wedding Suit by Allure Men. The grey suit featured a slim fit jacket with a two button front closure and matching flat iron pants accompanied by a plum vest, white shirt, & plum tie rented from House of JonLei Atelier. Our hair was delicately styled by the fabulous Gwynn Geohaghan Johnson, CEO of Go by Geohaghan, an ultramodern mobile hair salon in the Washington-Metropolitan area. She helped created the perfect bridal look ornamented with matching flowers. Our flawless makeup was compliments of the lovely LaKesha Bankston-Glover who owns LaKesha’s Inspiring Looks – Inspiring You to BeYouty!.
Dreamcatcher Stationery by Teaira Abston provided our custom wedding invite suite. We love the pops of color, & details she puts into all her work. Her menu cards were the finishing touch to the place setting. We were excited to add the details of the Mr and Mrs vintage and chic wooden ring boxes inside her collection as a must have this enchanting wood themed wedding shoot.
