Vintage Elegance (United Arab Emirates)

As told by The Wedding Haven: The Wedding Haven’s inspiration for this shoot was to recreate a vintage wedding theme by using a combination of soft and bright color tones that most people would not, at first instance, think they blend well together. Primarily shades of green, navy and beige as the base colors, with a touch of pink and burgundy.

The always creative mastermind and stylist behind this shoot, May Abu Jaber from The Wedding Haven, wanted the focus of the shoot to be placed on the decor elements such as the place card holders, candles, candlestick holders, cutlery and crockery, stationary, and show plates.

The shoot took place at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club. This venue is one of Dubai’s many hidden gems. It is a mix of elegance, simplicity, and outdoor beauty. Indeed, it is surrounded by timeliness of rolling green carpets, stunning backdrops, and lakeside venues that complement the elegance of whatever setting the bride and groom wish to showcase for their big day. Whether you opt for a simple and intimate wedding, or if you wish to celebrate a big luxury wedding, Arabian Ranches has several venues within the complex that can accommodate anywhere from 10 up to 300 guests.

Keeping in line with the vintage feel, The Wedding Haven chose an ivory fit and flare satin bridal gown with a beautifully beaded lace and a semi-sheer sweetheart bodice. The gown showcases covered buttons accenting the semi-open back. The inset chapel train that cascades in lace over the satin gown.

As for the hair and makeup, they wanted to keep it soft and natural. So with the help of Monica from Blush Beauty Inc, the bride looked absolutely gorgeous with a bridal glow that accentuated her lips and eyes. They topped off the bridal look with soft wavy curls and a gold vintage brooch.

Irina from Blossom Tree Dubai once again wowed us with her use of bright colors that livened up the table. Her use of lisianthus, ranunculus, jasmine, and matiola added the omph that was needed to make the elements on the table pop.

Rebecca from LoveXDesign design an all-paper stationery suite which was a modern interpretation of a vintage aesthetic. The main invitation set included: a double-sided invitation card, RSVP card and printed vellum wrap held together with a velvet ribbon and accompanying tag for a soft but luxurious finish. The edges of the entire suite were hand-deckled to add to the ethereal nature of the design.

The design was inspired by the venue itself, with a hand drawn sketch of the venue in pastel mint as the main focal point of the set. It was repeated through out the suite from invitations to on-the-day items, either as a central element or as an accompanying background.

On-the-day elements included: double-layered vellum and hand-deckled paper menus and place cards. By layering the papers it created a light and powdery finish to the design suite to compliment the vintage tablescape.

The ever-so-unique navy glasses, vintage show plates, and golden cutlery provided by Party Social complemented, and even added that touch of modernity to the whole conceptualization of the tablescape.

And last but not least, the person who brought to life this shoot was none other than the amazing Paula from Paula Scalco Photography. Paula’s use of natural light enhanced the look that The Wedding Haven were trying to achieve. Indeed with her photos she has managed to tell a tangible love story from intangible memories.
