Q1: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A1: From the beginning, we always knew we didn’t want anything over the top. Even when we met with different vendors and they asked about our theme, the response was always, “Simple, but elegant.” Of course, that’s not a theme, but that was the vibe we wanted for our wedding day. Originally, we planned to get married in October. Growing up, I had this vision of getting married outside on a beautiful green lawn with an amazing scenery. Due to our career field, I felt like it would be best if we got married before school started. Thus, we had this beautiful summer wedding. Since that was the case, I wanted our color palette to be light and airy, but one that gave that simple, but elegant vibe. In the end, we ended up doing blush & navy, accented in ivory and gold, which was the perfect color combination to match our venue.

Q3: Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A3: When you chose an amazing decorator along with an amazing venue, magic happens. Mrs. Michelle did an awesome job incorporating everything we wanted. It was a mixture of live florals (big and small arrangements) and candles, which created this romantic feeling that Tydles and I wanted.

Q5: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A5: The florals at our wedding were beautiful. Our tables were garnished with fluffs of hydrangeas, fresh blooming roses in soft pinks and creamy whites. My bouquet was an expression of my entire mood for the day: simple, but fierce and elegant! Our designer mixed roses with hydrangeas and hand tied them with a soft satin blush ribbon. It matched everything that I dreamed about.

Q7: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A7: We had a traditional wedding. For our music, we didn’t have live singing during the ceremony. Instead, we had a violinist who played our ceremony music. He also played during cocktail hour & the reception.

Q9: Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A9: He coordinated with the the groomsmen, who were in navy blue suits with blush vests and neckties. To distinguish him as the groom, he wore a white vest and white necktie, instead of blush. My bridesmaids wore a one-shoulder blush dress, while the maids of honor work a v-neck blush dress. For me, I just wanted a simple mermaid dress. This might sound crazy but I didn’t want any embellishments or anything (not even a belt). I tried on about six gowns, but I fell in love with the second gown. It met everything on my checklist.

Q11: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A11: We actually met at work. . As time passed, we became closer. I remember praying to God asking him to show me if he was my husband. HE did just that and here we are today: married (lol). The Proposal: We were on vacation when he proposed to me. It was his birthday and I had a special dinner planned for him that night. Earlier that day, I called the restaurant to confirm the reservations. Soon after, he told me he needed to go speak with the hotel receptionist/concierge. Of course, I didn’t question it. I just said okay. Well, little did I know, he used that excuse to call the restaurant back to change my plans and put his plans into place. When we got to the restaurant, the hostess was ready to seat us. He told me he needed to use the restroom before being seated (thats when he gave her the ring). I went ahead and sat down while he “went to the restroom”. Fast-forward to dessert: when the waitress brought dessert for that night, the first thing I noticed was that my plate was bigger than his. I guess the chef needed more space to write “Would you marry me?”, with the ring propped up on of the floral arrangements.

Q13: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A13: That’s easy: seeing him! The day goes by so fast, but it felt like it took 4:30 forever to come.

Q15: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
A15: Breathe and embrace it all! If you are able, take time to figure out what you and your fiance’ want; what’s important and what’s not important so your day can be a reflection of who the both of you are.
