Styled Shoot: “One Love” Cliffside Wedding in Jamaica
As told by Tamara Briggs Photography: Passion and romance exude from Jennifer and Adam’s seaside ceremony and reception. Surrounded by the Caribbean sea, Jennifer and Adam said their “I do’s” on the cliffs of Borghinvilla Wedding Venue. The couple, who are also in love with Jamaican culture, decided to have their wedding embedded with the Jamaican flavor, style, and taste. The soothing sounds of the Caribbean waves could be heard over the sweet sounds of reggae music. They chose mango season for their wedding so their cake could be mango flavored and so they could serve fresh mango mojitos (The mangos picked from Borghinvilla’s trees and the mint from the garden). Seasonal Jamaican fruits such as pineapple and mangos were served, and the menu consisted of all the island’s delicacies such as jerk chicken and rice and peas. Jennifer and Adam toasted to their life together with Jamaican Red Stripe Beer and Appletons Rum.
Borghinvilla was decorated with sparkly gold linens, candles, white roses, hydrangeas and Jamaican breadfruit leaves. Hanging crystals, lanterns and flowers were used to add interest from above. Something old, the bride used her grandmother’s earrings, for her something borrowed, her sister’s shoes, and for her something blue, the Caribbean Sea! Their sign (a map of Jamaica) documented the event for years to come. The couple combined their love together behind the Jamaican, “One Love” sign and for their reception a chair hanger that says “Irie Together”( a popular Jamaican saying which translates to: Nice Together).
