Styled Shoot: New York Sophistication Meets Southern Charm (NC)
The vision for this shoot was the sophistication of the New York style and the classic charm of the south, blended into a couture and modern wedding. To capture this and make this vision come to life, Jessica George Weddings and Events ensured the venue sang “New York, New York!” This became intertwined with a bit of southern-sweet charm from other textures and tones that screamed perfection.
Upon entry of the Mayton Inn’s ballroom, where the ceremony and reception were held, you can feel the richness of both history and city vibes. A spacious and sophisticated ballroom surrounded by a steel gray backdrop, hanging chandeliers, gray metallic fabric draping across the windows, modern light fixtures, and the stationary that all gave it a Swanky look.
Jessica tied in crystal and mirror accents to give the tabletop an uptown feel. We kept the sleek black tables exposed sticking with the modern feel. The subtle sweetness came in with the Attire and Floral arrangements.
The bride is wearing a Marciela Wedding Dress designed by Morilee Madeline Gardner from NY Bride and Groom in Garner NC. The bridesmaid’s dresses are also designed by Morilee Madeline Gardner. The Groom and groomsmen attire came from Bernard’s Formalwear in Durham NC.
Creative Touch Events bouquets were textured with blushing charm. The alters gave a classic look with high mounds of spilling Phalaenopsis Orchid. The Centerpiece had edgy groupings of the popular city and southern blooms.
Elle Beaute Events designed a makeup look that would capture the same textures, colors, and NYC glamour that the venue held. Elle Beaute Events created a dewy skin like finish that made everything feel organic and charming like the south. The Eyes were designed to be the focus feature and dressed the eye lids with deep plums and delicate blush tones to play off the colors of the flowers in the bouquet. Lastly, Elle Beaute Events added a touch of glimmer that would allow light to dance off the eyes throughout the evening.
Wicked Sweet Cake designed a 4-tier cake that displayed texture, shimmer, and modernized it by added a marble bottom tier tying in shades of gray and adding elegance with a blush ribbon.
Wedding Hair by Liz styled the models with layers of soft curls, providing edginess for the bride with curls wrapping the right side of the bride’s face and neck. The bridesmaids each had a style of their own. One with body waves with a hair brooch and the other with a classic up do and soft curls in the front of her face.
To finish the look jewelry was provided by Chloe and Isabel. Nothing speaks more NYC than Jewelry hand designed in NYC. The Brides Earring made a bold statement with its large cut diamonds. The bridesmaids had matching winged shaped earrings that added a bit of drama to the look.
