Styled Desert Inspired Wedding (Houston, TX)

Being that Houston, Texas is part of the southwest of the country in a city that has allowed diversity to flourish. I thought to bring together a team that would help me put together this styled shoot inspired in the desert.  We think this is a great submission because we are aiming to inspire couples to integrate culture, traditions, and personality into their big day in creative ways that have not yet been explored in Houston!

We integrated cultural aspects native to this region, such as the teepee, in an effort to embrace our native roots.   We used a neutral palette for flowers to transport us to the simple, but elegant, colors of the desert, while allowing for some pops of color. I must mention that the florists were also great at repurposing flowers from the ceremony area to the reception area, which may be helpful to any couples trying to make the best out of their investment.

By using a floral dress, we wanted to inspire brides from all kinds of backgrounds to not be afraid to show their personality and show that doing things differently can also be elegant, fun, and beautiful.  We kept the makeup neutral and clean to place all the attention on the dress.

The design and coordination were well put together by the coordinators bringing simplicity, elegance, vintage touches, and pops color on the table. They definitely made my vision a reality and made great use of the space and items we had available within the venue.

The cake designer surprised us with two beautiful cakes that were dreamy, contemporary, and colorful. The touches of gold definitely brought elegance to the cake table.

The final look could not have been completed without the participation of the kokedama and macrame designer, which brought bohemian vibes into this wedding. The suspension of the kokedama was a must since we wanted to inspire brides to consider entertaining your guests by looking at details as a whole, up and down and not just straight forward.

Overall, the original look of the venue, which reminds me a lot of Mexico, due to its Mediterranean facades, fits a diverse population’s needs. In addition, the use of the teepee, vintage items, bohemian crafts, floral wedding dress, and neutral flower colors brought alive the dessert-inspired wedding that we could be having here in Houston.  All can be achieved with the help of all the talented vendors involved in this styled wedding project, ready to dream and create with you!
