Private Club Wedding Editorial (Toronto)

Special features of this Styled Shoot included Motown Band “BluSoul”, a private back-room Casino, a custom dance floor, a Circle of Love for both the Wedding Ceremony and the Sweetheart Table, a “Pick your Poison” Martini bar, and a Balloon Garland cake table treatment.

From the Wedding Planner/Creative Director:

This modern wedding shoot was inspired by James Bond and his exotic Bond Girl.

When touring The Albany Club, a Private Club in Downtown Toronto, I knew the old world luxury and elegance was the perfect backdrop to a glamorous Casino Wedding.

This editorial photoshoot took place in the John A. Macdonald Room, while another former Canadian Prime Minister conducted a meeting at the same time in another room.

Being that this was a glamorous wedding, we had three dress changes and two tuxedo changes.  The bride wore all Catherine Langlois custom gowns and the groom wore Ike Evening.

Our bride was the winner of “SuperModel Canada 2017” and Vlogger Simone Speaks was on hand interviewing the participants and chronicling the shoot for her web show.  There were two video crews taking behind the scenes film.

Challenges we faced:

Toronto traffic was a major problem on the day of the shoot, causing almost everyone to be 2 hours late and pushing the shoot start time back.  Unfortunately, people still had appointments and auditions to keep, so we had to hurry, rearrange the order of shooting, and even cut some planned photos.  The Floral Designer and I had to move and reset tables and the Circle of Love no less than 5 times.

Another challenge was that the Wedding Planner and Photographer decided the room on the 4th floor was a better fit for the style of the shoot, instead of the original Main Floor ballroom and the only access to the 4th floor was by a small 100+-year-old elevator.  Casino table plans had to be changed and the on-site coordinator at the Albany Club, April, even measured and made a video of the elevator for us so we could plan properly, that was amazing!

Another challenge was the ma;e model who was to play the Casino Dealer had a family emergency, luckily our Make-up Artist, Adam, stepped in and he was great!

It was a busy set, with over 20 professionals behind and in front of the camera, but it was a fun day and it was amazing to have BluSoul singing and performing while we worked.  I think I want them at every editorial shoot!
