Client Questionnaire
Q1: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A1: The theme of our wedding was love. We chose the colors of iris and amethyst. One tradition we did was jump over the broom. This was important to his mom so we made sure we incorporated it into the ceremony
Q2: Let’s talk about wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A2: The ceremony was held outside. We had an arch built for us to stand in front of. The greenery from the venue was so beautiful that we didn’t need to add much to it. The reception was decorated with a king and queen chairs. The tables had white table clothes with amethyst color runners and beautiful floral table arrangements.
Q3: What were the florals like at your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A3: We used flowers but I’m not sure what kind they were. We are not really flower people so we just let our florist have control of that. The arrangements on the table for the reception were extremely beautiful. The colors were the iris, amethyst, and white. The arrangements were the same for the bridesmaids.
Q4: Let’s talk about fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A4: That way a struggle because he wasn’t in the states when things had to be decided. He knew he wanted to have the amethyst color with his tux. So he wore a gray suit with an amethyst color bow tie, vest, and shoes. He made sure he has his cufflinks and jewelry also. His best man was a really big help in getting the look together. Also, we found out we were pregnant in October 2017 so that made the struggle for finding a dress even harder for me. I finally saw the perfect dress on Etsy.com. I wanted to make sure it could expand just in case I got bigger in my 9th month. It was an off the shoulder fitted dress with a train. I got a seamstress to sew a diamond bet onto it to make it stand out. My something blue was my shoes.
Q5: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A5: We met in high school. I thought he was cute but I knew he was a player at that time. We connected several years later but I wasn’t ready at that point. He never gave up lol. Finally, in 2016, I let him take me on a date and I fell in love. We dated for about a year and he planned a trip to Dubai for us in March 2017. I thought this was just a regular trip for us since he was in Iraq and it had been a couple of months since we saw each other. Little did I know, he planned to propose while we were there. It was the most romantic night ever. We went to a formal dinner and decided to stand on the bridge over the beach. I knew something was up because he kept repeating how beautiful the scenery was. Then he said ‘I told you once I got you, I would never let you go’ and got on one knee. The tears started coming from my eyes. Of course, I said yea!! I was so happy!!
Q6: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A6: Walking down the aisle. Just looking into his eyes as I walked towards him made me so happy. I was nervous also but so happy.
Q7: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
A7: The only advice I would give other couples planning a wedding is to just understand that nothing is ever perfect. I know you want your day to be perfect but don’t be upset if something doesn’t go according to plan. The only thing that matters on that day is the love you have for each other. Everything else will fall into place.
