Album Story – From the Photographer

Reunited and it feels so good! These two can say that fate and destiny have been bringing them together for the past 20 years.  Troy and Javetta met through a mutual friend 20 years ago through passing and never thought they would ever meet again until 6 months later they would cross each other paths.  Being young the two dated for 1 year and then they decided to go their separate ways but remained friends for over 10 years.  Through a difficult for Javetta with the passing of her great aunt, troy contacted Javetta to give his condolences and the two have been together ever since.

Javetta & Troy have maintained a friendship for the past 20 years that make their union more of a blessing to be with the one that makes their heart sing.  Javetta & Troy have put God first to make their marriage stronger and one that will last forever!

Client Questionnaire

Q1: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style, or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A1: My wedding day was simply amazing! The theme was an enchanted night for two.  I wanted it to be simply beautiful with a white and navy blue color palette.  I wanted it to feel like a starry night.

Q2: Let’s talk about wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A2: My ceremony was simple but yet elegant.  I want to give a floral feel for the ceremony space which included softer colors like blush pink and white.  I wanted it to be a soft and elegant feel something totally different than the reception space. The reception space I wanted everyone to feel like they just walked into another world of elegance and sophistication.  I wanted the feel of a starry night.  I achieved that look by draping the whole ballroom with white satin drapes, white dance floor, and all crystal and glass centerpieces with white and blush color florals throughout the room.  We also added a ton of candles all around the venue to give that elegant and romantic feeling.

Q3: What were the florals like at your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces, or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A3: The fresh florals were soft and dramatic.  The color palette we choose was white and blush.

Q4: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment, etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A4: The guest was entertained from the beginning until the end.  We had a Live Band, DJ, MC, and we ended the night with a sparkler send-off.

Q5: Let’s talk about fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A5: I wanted a very bold and dramatic flair to my wedding gown.  I choose a gown that resembled my personality as well as the decor for my wedding. I choose a beaded Moscato color dress with a long cathedral veil that was changed to a shorter beaded veil with rhinestones. Troy tux was a paisley texture tux that was black and silver. He didn’t want to go with the traditional all-black pants suit.  Which the paisley print represented our wedding scheme well.

Q6: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A6: Troy and I met 20 years ago twice.  It was destined for us to be husband and wife lol! We dated for 1 year before parting ways for 10 years to only be reunited and been in love ever since.  My proposal was very intimate and unexpected. Troy had already planned on proposing to me on New Year’s Day.  So we were supposed to go downtown to a festival but  I was sick battling an upper respiratory infection but he was not going to let that ruin his proposal or what would be my special day.  We watched the count down and at 12 am sharp he got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I could not talk because I had lost my voice all I could do was cry.  He was not sure if I accepted his proposal or not so I had to shake my head yes! It was the best proposal ever!

Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A7: The most anticipated moment was the moment we both said: “I Do”! We have been living for that very moment when we would become husband and wife.

Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
A8: Yes I would tell any bride to enjoy the moment and be a bride-to-be.  Enjoy your fiance and take time for each other.  The wedding process can take over your life but you have to maintain a good balance between the two and never lose focus on the reason you are having a wedding anyways!
