Bright November Wedding (NC)

Derek and Dashekia met in March of 2010 through a mutual friend, Taylor. Taylor’s initial intentions for introducing Derek and Dashekia was for them to attend prom together, not knowing what their relationship would become years later. Taylor is Derek’s cousin and Dashekia’s high school classmate. From the first few times they met, it was obvious the chemistry between Derek and Dashekia grew to unimaginable levels. Derek knew Dashekia was the most genuine, loyal, and down to earth person he ever met; and Dashekia knew Derek was the most fun, charismatic, and energetic guy she ever met. In the first months of knowing each other, they laughed until in tears, talked on the phone for hours, and spent every free moment with each other. They enjoyed outings such as the movies, ate at restaurants, visited families, and attended a host of events all that summer.

When school started in the fall, because Derek and Dashekia studied in different cities, they visited each other’s university every other weekend. They couldn’t get enough of each other. They were madly in love without knowing it. Later in 2010, Derek and Dashekia made their relationship official and this took their love to another level. Now their vision became enlarged and they started traveling the country together. Going to Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and other major cities. These two were taking the world at large and no one could stop them. Over the years their travels continued and they are more in love today than they were in 2010. Their travels started off by taking road trips visiting more than 40 out of the 48 continuous states. Then their travels escalated to flying to over 5 countries together and living in two continents together. As long as these two have each other they are not afraid of the world and want to experience it.

Some say these two paint the perfect image of true black love. They show examples of how partners should love each other and stick through the hard times. They provide a picture of how a relationship looks when you find your soul mate. They understand they are not perfect, but you understand their love is pure. They give people hope and make young couples believe in love again. Sometimes they don’t realize how powerful their relationship is but they know how hard they must work to keep it alive. To many they’re relationship is perfect, but if you speak to them you will find out that they are just two imperfect people not willing to quit on each other. They are a dynasty. They are creating a legacy.
