A Black Tie Winter Affair (Morgantown, WV)
As told by Benjamin Amend Photography: This wedding is exactly what happens when a wedding planner, herself, gets married. The details were managed to a ‘t’ and the thought and effort that was put into the day could be felt from the time the girls started their hair and make-up to the last celebration drink enjoyed at the after party. The bride and groom met in college on the bride’s birthday. A mutual friend introduced them at Liesl’s birthday party and to this day, the she describes Mark as the best birthday gift ever. As a wedding planner, Liesl knew what to expect on her wedding day and prepared for it accordingly. The first thing Liesl and Mark sat down to do was set a budget. They decided on ‘unconditional love, classic, and fun.’ They wanted to not only have a good time themselves, but also really focused on their guests experiences. They chose their wedding date to help with the ‘unconditional love’ feeling at the wedding. They knew having a wedding close to the Christmas holiday would bring all the feels and would be the perfect chance to get the whole family together to celebrate. They also knew that since they were waiting two years to get married, this would give them two years of after Christmas sales to get all the décor they needed to create Liesl’s vision. On top of the décor Liesl designed for their centerpieces, the wedding reception was completed with a 12ft Christmas tree, a Christmas cookie bar that would make any chocolatier envious, and a Christmas themed photo booth. Mark and Liesl’s guests danced the night away under a cascade of Christmas lights.
